Narrow roads: On the way back to Vancouver, Canada, Sherren took a detour through the Humboldt County—located at the far north coast of California—where well paved roads followed clean ice melted rivers and there were many great places to camp.
Into the blue: Sherren said they crammed 14 people, two motorcycles and about 50 litres of wine for an eight-day voyage onto the 14-metre Italian sail boat Zao Zao.—photo by Ron Seida
