This club is bridging many gaps
“We get the job done,” said Dennis Beasley, vice-president of the Crowsnest Pass Quad Squad, in referring to the club’s bridging and trail enhancement programs.

In 2007, the group spent approximately $150,000 on building new bridges and improving the trail system; the funds came from the club’s annual raffle as well as grants from various stewardship associations. According to Beasley, the club’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed.
“(People) know we can actually do a job,” he said. “When we say we’re going to put three new bridges on Goat Creek, like we’re going to do on Stewardship Day (June 7), they know we can do it.”
Club members work closely with organizations such as Alberta Sustainable Resource Development to obtain permits and ensure their projects meet environmental standards. This season, the squad will install 12 bridges and develop seven to 10 kilometres of new trail.
It’s not all work and no play however. On July 5, the club is having a Family/Novice Trail Day in the Carbondale and Lost Creek areas south of Crowsnest Pass.
